Learning the law by working with — and against — an AI.

Amicus is a teaching tool for law students. A student opens a case and works through it in conversation with an AI that plays a role — a Socratic questioner, opposing counsel, a demanding senior partner, a difficult client — and produces real work: a memo, a rebuttal, a redline.

The point isn't to get an answer from a machine. It's the opposite: to practice the judgment lawyering demands — spotting the issue, holding a position under pressure, telling a strong argument from a weak one — in a profession that is increasingly shaped by these systems. Students learn to reason with AI, and to reason against it.

Each exercise is designed by the professor and reviewed by the professor. The conversation is a means; the thinking is the point.
